All animals at Northwestern University must be handled, housed, treated, cared for, and transported in a humane and ethical manner in accordance with all regulations and university policies. Any person having reason to question the treatment of animals at Northwestern is encouraged to report incidents involving perceived non-compliance without fear of retaliation. Please see the University’s policy on Reporting and Investigating Suspected Noncompliance in Animal Research for further guidance.
The Animal Health and Reporting Animal Concerns document should be prominently posted in all approved animal use spaces.
Please contact the Office for Research at the anonymous number 847-467-ACUC. No threat or reprisal will be made against anyone reporting perceived mistreatment or non-compliance.
All complaints and documentation will be brought to the attention of the IACUC.
