IACUC Committee membership requires a veterinarian, at least one practicing scientist, a non-scientist, and a public member to represent the community. Our committee is comprised of these members, as well as other people from across the institution, including faculty members, Office for Research representatives, and expert consultants.
The responsibility of the IACUC is to oversee and routinely evaluate the program. The institution is responsible for providing suitable orientation, background materials, access to appropriate resources, and, if necessary, specific training to assist IACUC members in understanding their roles and responsibilities and evaluating issues brought before the committee.*
